Holy Redeemer PCC, Acomb, York, has been successful in an application for funding under the Covid emergency programme, provided by the government and administered by the National Lottery Community Fund.

A grant of £2,850 has been awarded for the ‘Welcome to Holy Redeemer’ project, which aims at re-starting and improving the parish's community programme.

It will cover essential equipment and materials to ensure that the premises are Covid safe, such as bulk purchases of hand sanitiser, and wipes to enable the reinstatement of regular cleaning.

Helen Ashby of Holy Redeemer says, "The grant will also enable us to restart our 'Take 5' well-being group, whilst meeting current safety guidelines and to improve it through the purchase of new equipment and setting up a community café.

"It will also support the Food Bank, set up an evening sports and games evening and provide seed-corn for a summer fair.

"Money is also available to provide much needed publicity so look out for new posters and leaflets around the area."

If you are interested in supporting the project or simply finding out more, please contact Helen or Becky.
