Stepping Up is the first step for a parish to be involved with the Mustard Seed Programme. It provides an opportunity for lay people to come together once a week with people from other parishes in their deanery to grow together as disciples of Jesus.

Who is it for?

  • Does your parish want to grow in mission in your local community?
  • Is your parish committed to developing lay people in mission?
  • Are there are one or more people in your parish who have a desire to grow in their discipleship and sharing God’s love in the local community?

What is Stepping Up?

  • A learning community based in a local parish, for lay people within your deanery
  • Meeting once a week during term time for a year
  • There is no cost to being involved
  • The group will be small in size, people will learn and share together as they grow as disciples of Jesus
  • People will also grow in their confidence and ability to share their faith and explore how to develop mission in their community

How do we find out more?
