An opportunity for children and young people to enter artistic work on the theme of ‘being light in difficult times’. The idea is that churches (this can also be done at a benefice or Deanery level) will contact their local schools, as well as families they already have contact with, and hold a local competition. Winning entries can then be entered into the Diocesan competition - prizes for which will be presented by the Archbishop of York at an afternoon tea at Bishopthorpe Palace. It is hoped that the ‘exhibition’ of work will then be exhibited around the Diocese during the summer and autumn.
• Information packs available below so that competitions can be launched in February
• Deadline for entries to the Diocesan competition is the 5th July and the winners will be announced 19th July with prizes hopefully presented by the Archbishop of York
• Info pack for churches to include: Template letter to schools, Template letter to families, Instructions with deadlines, Posters, Logo
