Are you looking for a rich and meaningful way to work with children in the Christian faith aged 3-12 years? Come to this fascinating taster session and discover what the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd can offer. It is a Christian catechesis programme for children aged 3-12 years which enables them to experience and form an authentic relationship with God. The Catechesis is rooted in Scripture and the Liturgy of the Church and is inspired by Maria Montessori’s principles of education. It perceives the child not as an empty vessel ready to be instructed about God, but rather as someone who already has a deep relationship with God and who needs language and a space to help this relationship to grow. It invites the adult to move out of the role of teacher and serve instead as a co-listener and co-learner with the child before the word of God.

Led by Dominic Black, Vicar of Holy Trinity North Ormesby and Catherine Reid, Vicar of the Ampleforth benefice.
