There have been so many developments in our understanding of the spirituality and faith development of children and young people over the last few years. Sometimes when we are busy doing, it is hard to get the time, or the energy, to find out more and keep up to date with how these understandings can transform our practice. We will be offering a wide variety of training opportunities across the Diocese, so make sure you sign up for the monthly mailing childrenandyouth@yorkdiocese.org, if you haven't already done so, to find out more.

Safeguarding Training

It is really important that all volunteers that work with children and young people have completed the basic levels of safeguarding training (C0 and C1). These are available online and can be completed in your own time in a few hours. Leaders of events and activities should also attend C2 training, and consider doing the S3 - Responding to Domestic Abuse training. There are a number of dates available on the Diocesan website and the training is delivered across the Diocese, free of charge.

Higher Education Certificate, Diploma and Degree in Mission and Ministry

Cliff College offers specialist studies in Mission and Ministry for people working with children, young people or families. You can choose to study on a full or part time basis, and student finance is available. Visit their website for more information, or email childrenandyouth@yorkdiocese.org
