We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to work with Scarborough Deanery.
- Location: Home Working some daytime and evening meetings (Flexible)
- Hours: 6 hours per week (flexible hours to be negotiated)
- Salary: £12.60 per hour (Real Living Wage)
- Contract: 2 years
- Reporting to: Area and Lay Deans
About Scarborough Deanery
Scarborough Deanery, part of the Diocese of York, covers parishes across the region from Ravenscar to Filey and Hunmanby. We are a vibrant Christian community committed to our Diocesan strategy of Living Christ’s Story. We areseeking a new Administrative Assistant to help us expand our mission and ministry.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual to support the Deanery Leadership Team. This role will ensure the administration of the deanery continues to run smoothly, allowing us to grow both spiritually and numerically.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Deanery Leadership Team
- Manage communications, including event promotion and updates to Deanery Synod Members
- Organise and support Deanery events and meetings
- Maintain accurate records and manage publicity through social media and the website
- Take minutes and prepare agendas for Leadership Team meetings
- Build relationships with clergy, lay ministers, wardens, and other members of the deanery
Person Specification
- A Christian or someone sympathetic to the Christian faith
- Proven experience in administration and communication
- Familiarity with Church of England settings is an advantage
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle confidential information
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in social media
