Lynn has worked in theological education for many years, including as Principal of York School of Ministry and York Diocesan Director of Reader Training, both of which remain within her wider role as Diocesan Director of Lifelong Learning. She has served as a Reader herself at St Luke's Church in York since the 1990s.

She is responsible for formation for ministry for Authorised Lay Ministers and Licensed Lay Ministers as well as informal Lay Ministry resourcing.
