A lasting difference – Grants for Places of Worship

A series of free presentations for PCC members and all responsible for church buildings
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) provides a source of support for many parishes working hard to look after their historic buildings. These informal and informative sessions will offer an overview of the Heritage Lottery Fund generally and a specific insight into their Grants for Places of Worship scheme for urgent structural repairs. In addition, the HLF also has funding streams which support community heritage and a wide range of cultural initiatives which may be relevant to church-based activities.

The presentations will take place in York, Romanby near Northallerton, Sherburn in Elmet and Beverley at the following times (note the slightly later start in York)…

Tuesday 24th January 2017

  • YORK St Denys church, Walmgate, 7.30-9.30 pm

Tuesday 14th February 2017

  • ROMANBY (Northallerton) St James church, 7.00-9.00 pm

Friday 17th February 2017 [THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED]

Tuesday 7th March 2017 [THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED]

…and in each case refreshments will be available half an hour before the starting times given above.

The Archdeacons and the DAC warmly encourage you to come along and find out more about these important possible sources of funding, what is involved in applying and the key points of the programmes – especially the Grants for Places of Worship from which some of our churches have already benefitted. The presentations will also be an opportunity to talk to Development staff from the Heritage Lottery Fund about your church and applying for funding.

The presentations are free, but it would be very helpful for the organisers if you could let us know beforehand which venue you will be attending.
