Diocese of York Annual Education Conference

We are pleased to announce that our annual education conference will be held at York Racecourse on Tuesday 20th June. The annual conference gives the opportunity for the whole family of church schools from across the diocese to meet together for a day focused on the current educational context and how we might seek to further develop our vision and practice as church schools.

With this in mind, this year’s conference will be entitled ‘Vision into Being: Living life in all its fullness’ and will build on last year’s theme of ‘Shaping the Future’. The conference will seek to explore how our vision for church schools is borne out in practice, especially with regards to the key areas of wisdom, hope, community and dignity as set out in the Church of England’s national vision for education. Through thought-provoking keynote speeches, seminars and presentations, the conference will unpick how schools and academies are putting vision into practice in a way that is, in the words of the national vision, both deeply Christian and in the service of the common good.

Speakers confirmed are;

Dame Reena Keeble - Education Consultant and lead author of Effective Primary Teaching Practice Review (2016).

Pamela Draycott - Education Consultant.

Marc Rowland - Director of Policy and Research at the National Education Trust.

Dann Finn - Archbishop of York Youth Trust.
