We know that the Church of England Schools in the Diocese are amazing, and we’ve had a few awards and letters in recent weeks confirming this.
- Minister of State for Schools, David Laws MP, has written to Aberford CofE VC Primary School, Heworth CofE VA Primary School, and Roos CofE VC Primary School to congratulate them on being among the 100 top performing schools based on sustained improvement in attaining level 4 or above in reading, writing and mathematics each year from 2012-2014.
- David Laws MP has also written to St Mary's CofE VC Primary School, Beverley, and Flamborough CofE Primary School to congratulate them on the improvement in the key stage 2 results of their disadvantaged pupils since 2011. Their results showed that they have improved in terms of the progress and attainment achieved by their disadvantaged pupils since 2011, and that they are highly effective in educating their disadvantaged pupils.
- Lockington CofE Primary School has come top of the primary school league tables in the East Riding and within the top 100 schools nationally.
- South Otterington Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School recently received an 'outstanding' judgment from Ofsted.
Congratulations to all the staff, governors and students in these schools!
