On Saturday 3rd September 500 delegates from across the Uk will gather at York Minister for the start of a day of celebrations and learning. The service in the Minister will be led by the Right Reverend Dr John Thomson, Bishop Suffragan of Selby and the Preacher will be Right Reverend Paul Ferguson, Bishop Suffragan of Whitby. It will be preceded by a parade of banners featuring all the diocesan Cursillo groups represented at the conference from Parliament Street in the City centre, led by the Golden Rail Band. In the afternoon the conference moves to the Central Hall of York University, before an evening of entertainment.

“It is a real privilege to be hosting this important annual event,” says Trevor King, Lay Director of York Anglican Cursillo. “It’s going to be a marvellous day of celebration and fellowship. In fact there are some 250 folk staying at the University on Friday and Saturday nights so, for them, it will be a whole weekend!”

Cursillo is an international organisation which offers Christians a community of discipleship, in which they are supported and encouraged to witness their beliefs in every aspect of their lives.
