The House of Clergy elected the Revd Tim Robinson as their new Chair at our last Diocesan Synod.

Here's his introduction to you all.

"I write to introduce myself as the newly elected Chair of the House of Clergy for York Diocesan Synod. I was proposed by James Grainger-Smith, seconded by Christine Haddon-Reece and elected in a short meeting of the clergy present at the Diocesan Synod of 18 October.

Having trained at St Stephen’s House, Oxford I was ordained in 1991 and served my title parish at Acklam, Middlesbrough. My first incumbency was at North Ormesby, again in Middlesbrough. After a ten year stint as a teacher at a Middlesbrough community comprehensive school I became Vicar of Helmsley in September 2010 and Rural Dean of Northern Ryedale in the following year.

During my early years in ministry I was a counsellor for RELATE.

I want to make a difference as Chair of the House of Clergy. I represent clergy on Archbishop’s Council, the Agenda Committee for Diocesan Synod and on the Vacancy in See Committee when that becomes appropriate. I would anticipate interpreting what policy decisions may mean for clergy. I would also hope to act as a conduit between parish and sector clergy with archdeacons, bishops and archbishop when the occasion arises.

I want to help. I look forward to working with you in this new role. You can contact me on tim.robinson123@btinternet.com, 01439 770983 or 07738 159073."
