As a diocesan family, we are striving to be a people who are “Living Christ’s Story”; a simpler, bolder, humbler church, which in its diversity reflects the communities it serves. This new role is externally-funded; part of a significant Church Commissioners grant of £850,000 in Strategic Capacity Funding. This will help us implement our ambitious vision for growth across the diocese, championed by the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell.
Could you be part of our work to deepen discipleship in individuals and within church communities? You will be a Christian grounded in worship and prayer, with a passion for discipleship and a commitment to our vision of Living Christ's Story. You will understand the contours and cultures of a diverse diocese, and have a track record of delivery built on engaging others and building collaborative relationships.
At a critical point in our journey of change, we have identified two key tasks to be undertaken within our Mission and Ministry team. We are seeking to appoint somebody who can take forward our work to deepen discipleship in individuals and within church communities; as well as somebody to support the delivery of our ‘Reimagining Mission and Ministry’ workstream within the ‘Living Christ’s Story’ strategic transformation programme.
These are two distinct areas of activity and responsibility, but with significant overlap. This could be an opportunity for somebody to work with us full-time covering both areas, perhaps with the balance of focus shifting over the timespan of these work programmes. Equally, this could be an opportunity for two individuals, with distinct and complementary gifts, to be appointed to two part-time roles.

The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 3 July 2022.
Interviews are scheduled to take place in York on Wednesday 13 July 2022.
