Fylingdales Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School has received a 'Good' in their most recent Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report.

A small school, which takes it's motto of 'flourish, succeed, let your light shine' from Matthew 5:16, the school has been noted to excel at 'serving its local community' yet 'still preserving its uniqueness'.

The report also praised the 'strong partnership between the churches and school' and the result of this partnership allowing the lives of staff, students, and parents to be 'enriched'.

Another particular highlight of the report was the comment on the child-centred approach that Fylingdales has towards the curriculum. This approach allows pupils to 'have a voice as active agents of change, both locally and globally'.

The principal objective of the SIAMS inspection is to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the school as a church school, and how well the distinctive Christian character and ethos of the school ensure the development and achievement of the whole child or young person.
