Mustard Seed has been working in partnership with the Church of England to produce a series of inspiring films about the Mustard Seed mission.

Here are two of the films sharing Good News from our coastal communities.

Richmond Teardrops Café - Jill shares how her own experience of grief inspired her to develop the Teardrops café. Jill describes how she is not a ‘clever academic person’ but she realised her life experience has taught her so much and she can offer this as a gift to God. Teardrops is a safe space hosted at St Hilda’s Church, Redcar, to support people experiencing grief in the local community, so they know they are not alone.

On reflection about the Teardrop Café, Jill loves to see others “gaining confidence and discovering each other’s gifts.”

Tuesday Meal - Kev’s story begins with him turning up at Emmanuel Church, Bridlington six years ago, wet and cold. He received a warm welcome and a cuppa and returned again and again. Kev is now the chef for the Tuesday meal, serving food for people experiencing homelessness in Bridlington every Tuesday evening. A hot meal with a warm welcome, people to listen, prayer and support with housing and other needs. Kev says, “I am just giving back what was given to me”.
