All Saints Church, Newton on Ouse, organised and coordinated a sewing project between the 20th April and the 8th May to love and support their neighbours by supplying scrub bags and face mask extenders to neighbouring surgeries, care homes, community nurses and hospitals.

Thirty two women participated and 212 bags plus 154 face mask extenders were supplied.

"We were so happy to that our village church could support our community in a practical way, as well as spiritually by remembering them constantly in our prayers," said Churchwarden Stephanie Dow, who came up with the idea and co-ordinated the project.

The majority of those who took part were not regular members of All Saints' congregation but saw the appeal on the church's Facebook page.
