The welcome mat is out and the doors are open again from the beginning of October at Wydale Hall, the Diocese of York’s retreat house at the edge of the North York Moors and not far from the Yorkshire coast.

The house has been silent for six months but the prayers of Wydale’s community have continued as the 14 acres of gardens and grounds have been tended through 2020’s spring and summer. House and garden wait for us to come away to Wydale once again.

Wydale is ready; everything’s in place for the safety and wellbeing of pilgrims and visitors, and of the volunteers and staff who care for them. We’ll all play our part in the measures to protect ourselves and each other at Wydale while the Coronavirus pandemic continues.

Manager Mark Rance and the Wydale team look forward to talking with individuals, families and groups to explore the ways that Wydale can work with you and for you, to be a blessing on your times of reflection, prayer, refreshment, exploration, rest, and perhaps celebration too.

  • Call us on 01723 859270 and let’s see what we can do.

Wydale’s back, although it’s not back to normal; you’ll find guidelines about how and when you can gather in groups indoors for worship, fellowship and socialising; fewer comfy chairs; fascinating one-way systems to get around the maze-like hall; some changes to the way we enjoy Wydale’s famous catering, and other rules and requests we’ll explain when you book – but in a time of pandemic this is just part of the prayerful care and support Wydale is there to offer.

So come back to Wydale – to pray, to stay, to visit, to explore outdoors and within yourself. You’ll find a warm welcome in Jesus’ name, and we’ll take great care of you in this challenging time.

  • Make that call today; how can we help you?
