Sammi Tooze

Sammi works to enable the diocesan strategic priority of ‘becoming more like Christ’. As well as working with deaneries, churches, and individuals, Sammi creates resources to deepen a culture of everyday faith, and enable us all to grow as missional disciples. Sammi’s areas of focus include everyday faith, pilgrimage, and worship, and leads working groups for each. One of Sammi’s responsibilities is in holding the diocesan Rhythm of Life, offering us a creative and flexible framework to live our faith in everyday life. The practices we are invited into are to pray, to be shaped by scripture, to worship in community, to love one another, to live generously, to share our faith with others, and to have regular patterns of rest.

Sammi enjoys writing, including recent publications with Church House publishing on saints and pilgrimage, Christmas, and music in the Bible. She is a member of General Synod, the Church of England’s Liturgical Commission, and is a Trustee of the Royal School of Church Music.
