Since 2022 John has been the Growing Healthy Churches Adviser for York Diocese running Revitalise with John Lee. He also offers consultancy to any local church in the diocese. The focus is on ‘growth’ – in disciples, in worship and in mission. He was ordained in 1987 and has served churches in Bradford, Leeds and Christchurch, New Zealand. He was appointed an Archdeacon in 2010 and served in the South Island, NZ, Liverpool and York Dioceses.
John was born in Scarborough and is married to Stephanie. She teaches at Emmanuel Theological College. They have four adult children and twelve grandchildren. He’s a lifelong West Bromwich Albion FC supporter.
