Come and be part of a meaningful evening as Archbishop Stephen and Bishop Eleanor share a heartfelt conversation about the Lord’s Prayer on Friday 28th March, at 7pm at Hull Minster. Through teaching, reflection, and music, this event will explore the depth and beauty of the prayer that has united Christians for generations. Book your free place here.
A Day of Connection and Worship
Earlier in the day, Archbishop Stephen will visit Bishop Burton College to meet with staff and students, and explore areas of the campus. He will then head to a parish church in Beverley, gathering with local school children for storytelling workshops about the Lord’s Prayer, before the whole school gathers for an act of worship.
Ahead of the evening event in Hull Minster, Archbishop Stephen will lead an online Evening Prayer for the Diocese of York at 5.15pm, offering another opportunity to come together in faith, and hear a short address on the Lord’s Prayer. To join Evening Prayer, sign up here.
A Call to Prayer
At the heart of this tour is a simple yet powerful invitation: to learn the Lord’s Prayer by heart and live out its words in our daily lives. This echoes the prayer’s central plea: “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.”
During the evening event in Hull Minster, there will be an opportunity to hear a new moving choral setting of the Lord’s Prayer, composed by Lucy Walker – a beautiful way to reflect on what this prayer means to us.
Faith in the North
The Lord’s Prayer Tour and this newly commissioned music are part of Faith in the North — an initiative inspired by the Northern Saints, including Hild, Cuthbert, Bede, and Paulinus. Through prayer, storytelling, and church planting, the initiative seeks to deepen faith and renew the Church’s mission to share God’s love with all. Free resources are available for schools and churches to explore and engage with this journey.
A Special Invitation for 2025
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for 10 October 2025, when churches, schools, and individuals across the North of England will unite in saying the Lord’s Prayer together — a moment of shared faith and community.
