Movements of clergy and others, into, out of and between posts in the Diocese of York
The Revd Jenni Foreman, Multiply Minister for Kingston upon Hull, St Nicholas, has resigned to be Vicar of Worksop and Shireoaks in the Diocese of Nottingham. Her final service will be on Sunday, 11th August 2024 and she will be installed on Thursday, 5 September 2024.
The Revd Anika Gardiner, Team Vicar of Keynsham in the Diocese of Bath and Wells, has been appointed Vicar of St Luke’s, York. She will be collated by the Archbishop of York at St Luke’s, York, on Monday, 2nd September at 7.30pm.
The Revd Jill Gillanders, Assistant Curate of Thirsk, resigned with effect from 8 May 2024.
The Revd Barbara Hodgson will be relicensed by the Bishop of Hull as Assistant Curate of Rudston, Boynton, Carnaby, Kilham, Burton Fleming with Fordon, Grindale and Wold Newton for a period of two years, via Zoom on Wednesday 11th September.
The Revd Eleanor Launders-Brown, formerly Curate of Scarsdale East in the Diocese of Derby, is to be Succentor and Minor Canon of York Minster. She will be licensed by the Archbishop of York, at 12:30pm on Wednesday, 7th August 2024 at Bishopthorpe Palace and installed at York Minster during Evensong on Saturday 10th August at 5.30pm.
The Revd Dr Tim Kelly, Interim Priest-in-Charge of Walkington, Bishop Burton, Skidby and Rowley has been appointed as Rector of Walkington, Bishop Burton, Skidby and Rowley. He will be collated by the Bishop of Hull in All Hallows, Walkington on Tuesday, 3 September 2024 at 7:30pm.
The Revd Alan Leach has been reappointed as Assistant Curate of Rudston, Boynton, Carnaby, Kilham, Burton Fleming with Fordon, Grindale and Wold Newton.
The Revd David Mather, Vicar of Bridlington Holy Trinity and Sewerby with Marton, resigned with effect from 10 June 2024.
The Revd Canon Paul Peverell, Vicar of Great Ayton with Easby and Newton under Roseberry, will retire on the 17 November 2024. The Rev Pev’s final service will be on Sunday 13 October 2024 in Christ Church, Great Ayton at 4:00pm.
The Revd Adam Romanis, Vicar of Heslington and of York St Lawrence with St Nicholas, will retire from 31st August 2024. His final service at Heslington Parish church will be on the 4th August and at St Lawrence Parish Church on the 11th August 2024.
The Revd Derek Simpson, Rector of Thirsk and IME2 Formation Adviser for the Cleveland Archdeaconry, will retire from 16 September 2024. His final service will be on Sunday, 18 August 2024 in St Mary’s Church, Thirsk.
The Revd David Sudron, Assistant Curate of Whorlton, has been appointed as Rector of Whorlton. He will be instituted by the Bishop of Whitby in All Saints, Hutton Rudby on Tuesday 16th July 2024 at 10:00am, and Inducted by the Archdeacon of Cleveland at Holy Cross, Swainby on Sunday 21st July 2024 at 10:00am.
The Revd Darius Traves, formerly Assistant Curate of Bridlington Christ Church with Bessingby and Ullrome, has been appointed Assistant Curate of Heworth Christ Church, York, and will continue to serve adititionally as Chaplain at York St John University.
The Revd Louise White, Assistant Curate of Hull Minster, has resigned to be Assistant Curate of the St Aldhelm Benefice, Purbeck, in the Diocese of Salisbury and will be licensed on Thursday 26th September 2024. Her final service will be on Sunday 25th August 2024 in Hull Minster.
The Revd Richard White, Priest-in-Charge of Newland St John, Hull, has resigned to be Rector of the St Aldhelm Benefice, Purbeck, in the Diocese of Salisbury from the 26th September 2024. His final service will be on Sunday 25th August 2024.
