Consecration of the Bishops of Selby and Whitby

The new bishops of Selby and Whitby will be consecrated (with the new Bishop of Sodor and Man) at York Minster on 10th October 2024 at 11.00am, on the Feast of St Paulinus.

The Revd Canon Dr Flora Winfield, next Bishop of Selby; Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell; the Revd Barry Hill, next Bishop of Whitby.

Archbishop Stephen writes:

Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings in the name of Christ.

As you will know, the new bishops of Selby and Whitby will be consecrated (with the new Bishop of Sodor and Man) at York Minster on 10th October 2024 at 11.00am, on the Feast of St Paulinus.

It will be wonderful to fill the Minster at this service as we welcome them to our diocese.

Please do share this information with your parishes (by email, newsletter and service sheet) and encourage people to join us for this celebration. Those attending are asked to be seated by 10.45am (there is no need to book).

Please continue to pray for Flora and Barry as they prepare for their new ministry among us, and for our diocese as we look towards our next chapter in Living Christ’s Story.
