The Revd Anika Gardiner, Vicar of the Benefice of York St Luke, has been appointed additionally by the Bishop of Selby as Associate Area Dean of York for a period of five years, with effect from Wednesday 7th October 2026. She will be commissioned by the Archdeacon of York in Clifton Parish Church on Wednesday 7th October 2026 at 7.30pm.
The Venerable Michael Lowther Kavanagh, Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Garrowby Hill, retired on Monday 4th May 2026.
The Revd Mairi Ellen Taylor Gibson, Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Acomb The Holy Redeemer, held in plurality with Nether Poppleton w Upper Poppleton, will be licensed as Parish Deacon in the same benefices. The licensing by the Bishop of Selby will take place in Bishopthorpe Palace Chapel on Wednesday 30th September 2026 at 12.30pm.
