The Revd Dr Michael Andrew Brydon, Chaplain to the Bishop of Sodor and Man and Priest-in-Charge of St Matthew’s, Douglas, in the Diocese of Sodor and Man, has been appointed as Priest-in-Charge of the Benefice of St Lawrence with St Nicholas, York, for a period of four years. His licensing by the Bishop of Beverley will take place in the Parish Church of St Lawrence, York, on Tuesday 3rd November 2026 at 7.30pm.
The Ven John Kenneth Day, Growing Healthy Churches Adviser, will retire from his role on Wednesday 30th September 2026.

The Revd Stephen Robert Gamble, part-time Rector of The Welland Foss Benefice in the Diocese of Peterborough, has been appointed as part-time Vicar of the Benefice of Kirkdale with Harome, Nunnington and Pockley. His institution by the Bishop of Whitby will take place in the Parish Church of St Saviour’s, Harome, on Wednesday 11th November 2026 at 7.00pm.
The Ven Michael Lowther Kavanagh, Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Garrowby Hill, retired on Monday 4th May 2026.
The Revd Dr Timothy Patrick Kelly, Rector of the Benefice of Walkington, Bishop Burton, Rowley and Skidby, and Area Dean of Beverley, has been appointed by the Archbishop of York as the next Archdeacon of the East Riding. He served his curacy in the Benefices of Beverley Minster and Routh, has served the communities of Walkington, Bishop Burton, Rowley and Skidby since 2022, and has served as Area Dean of Beverley since May 2025. His collation as Archdeacon of the East Riding will take place during Evensong at York Minster on Sunday 11th October 2026 at 4.00pm.

The Revd Michael (Mike) John Leigh, who currently holds the Archbishop’s Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of York, has additionally been appointed as Hospital Chaplain at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital. He will be licensed in the Bishopthorpe Palace Chapel on Wednesday 4th November 2026 at 12.30pm.
The Revd Katharine Alexandra McBride, Rector of the Benefice of Rural East York, has additionally been appointed by the Bishop of Selby as Area Dean of Derwent Deanery for a period of five years, with effect from Tuesday 10th November 2026. She succeeds the Revd Jackie Doyle-Brett and will be commissioned in the Parish Church of Dunnington St Nicholas on Tuesday 10th November 2026 at 7.30pm.
The Revd Dr Susan (Sue) Helen Pulko, Rector of the Benefice of Hedon, Paull, Sproatley and Preston in Holderness, will retire with effect from Monday 30th November 2026. Her final service will take place in the Parish Church of St Augustine, Hedon, on Sunday 29th November 2026.
The Revd Andrew (Andy) David Robinson, Prison Chaplain at HMP Full Sutton, resigned with effect from Monday 31st August 2026.

The Revd Darius James Traves, Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Osbaldwick with Murton, has been appointed as Assistant Curate (SSM) in the Benefice of York St Luke for a period of two years. His licensing by the Bishop of Selby will take place in the Parish Church of York St Luke on Tuesday 29th September 2026 at 7.30pm.
