If someone is in immediate danger
If you wish to report a safeguarding concern where a child or adult is in immediate danger, or requires immediate medical attention, call emergency services on 999.
You can also find additional emergency contact information for your local authority’s Children’s and Adult Social Care teams below.
You can seek further advice or make a disclosure by calling 01904 699 509 or 01904 699 524 or by contacting a member of the Safeguarding Team, who will respond as soon as possible.
The following situations require immediate action:
- A child or vulnerable adult has sustained injuries as a result of abuse that require urgent medical attention (ensure that the child/vulnerable adult sees a doctor);
- A child or vulnerable adult is refusing to return home because of the abuse (contact Children’s Social Care/Adult Social Care or the police);
- Achild or vulnerable adult has disclosed that there is a likelihood of them suffering significant harm on returning home (contact Children’s Social Care/Adult Social Care or the police).
If there is no immediate risk of harm
Your Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) is your local first point of contact to report a safeguarding concern.
