Movements of clergy and others, into, out of and between posts in the Diocese of York
The Revd Benjamin Brady, Associate Vicar of Lincoln St Swithin and Lincoln St Faith, and of St Martin with St Peter-at-Arches, in the Diocese of Lincoln, has been appointed as Rector of Huntington (York). He will be instituted by the Bishop of Selby will be held in All Saints, Huntington on Monday, 3rd February 2025 at 7:30pm.
The Revd Jane Brown, Rector of St Mary’s Garforth in the Diocese of Leeds, has been appointed as Interim Priest-in-Charge for three years to The Street Parishes and Authorised Presbyter of the Methodist Churches of Hovingham and Slingsby. She will be licensed by the Bishop of Selby at All Saints, Slingsby on Thursday, 27th February 2025 at 7.30pm.
The Revd Jonathan Cooper, Vicar of Brompton with Deighton, and Rounton (West and East) with Welbury, will retire from 31 January 2025. His final service will be on Sunday, 26 January 2025 in St Thomas’, Brompton.
The Revd Rachael Garland, Vicar of St Michael and All Angels, North Hull, resigned with effect from Tuesday 19th November 2024.
The Revd Canon Liz Hassall, Priest-in-Charge of York All Saints Pavement with St Crux and St Michael Spurriergate, York St Denys, York St Helen Stonegate with St Martin Coney Street and York St Olave with St Giles, has been appointed as Rector of that Benefice. She will be collated by the Bishop of Selby in St Olave’s Church, York on Monday 13th January 2025 at 7:30pm.
The Revd Paul Kronbergs, Assistant Curate of Middlesbrough St Columba with St Paul and of St John the Evangelist, has been re-appointed for a period of two years. He will be licensed by the Bishop of Whitby on Monday 20th January 2025 at 8:30am.
The Revd Canon Sue Sheriff, Interim Priest in Charge of Fulford, York, has been appointed as Vicar of Fulford. She will be collated by the Bishop of Selby at St Oswald’s, Fulford on Tuesday 25th February 2025 at 7:30pm.
The Revd Samantha Tredwell, Vicar of Long Eaton, St John in the Diocese of Derby, has been appointed as Vicar of the Scarborough, St Mary with Christ Church and Holy Apostles. She will be collated by the Bishop of Hull at St Mary, Scarborough on Tuesday 25 February, 2025 at 7:30pm.
The Revd Anne White, who holds the Archbishop’s Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of York, has been appointed as Associate Minister of Great and Little Driffield, of Langtoft with Foxholes, Butterwick, Cottam and Thwing, and of the Waggoners Benefice. She will be licensed by the Bishop of Hull at All Saints, Driffield, on Sunday 5 January 2025 at 4:00pm.
The Revd Dr Jenny Wright, Chaplain to the Archbishop of York, will leave in April 2025 to become Residentiary Canon with responsibility for learning and outreach at Ely Cathedral.
