Young Voices

The listening process ensures that children and young people in the diocese have a voice in shaping the conversations that matter to them.

In 2025, we began a new listening process to ensure that children and young people (aged 7-17) in the diocese have a voice in shaping the conversations that matter to them. This approach was designed to give young people space to set the agenda, choose the topics they want to explore, and share their views with peers.

Our GROW Youth Discipleship Ambassadors have been at the heart of this work. They have:

  • Selected the theme for discussion
  • Designed activities to help ask meaningful questions
  • Gathered responses from their peers
  • Identified the main themes that have shaped this report

This process reflects our commitment to listening and valuing the insights of children and young people at both primary and secondary levels. Their contributions help us understand what matters most to them and guide our shared journey in living Christ’s story.

Get involved

At some point in the future, depending on the suitability of the topics and devising appropriate ways for them to share their thoughts and views, we will be inviting 5 and 6-year-olds to take part too.
