Vicar of Eastfield – Scarborough

Eastfield is a large estate with lots of new housing being built. It is a place with a strong sense of community amidst various social and economic challenges. Our Church seeks to be at the heart of this community and works very closely with Westway Open Arms, a Christian Social Action Centre that is a key part of our mission. Alongside the existing estate, an extensive new housing area is being built and reaching them is a priority for us too.

We value inclusivity and welcome all. Our ministry amongst families, young people and children is important and we are relaxed when this can bring a bit of noise and chaos! We have a large number of lay ministers and we assume a collaborative approach to our mission and ministry.

Our community needs someone who will love them and be a visible presence in the parish. We are seeking someone with a missional heart who will build up God’s people here to sere in the church and beyond. We trust our new Vicar will :

  • Model a life of prayer and deep love for Jesus
  • Foster a sense of family and togetherness
  • Teach the bible faithfully, so it is accessible to all
  • Encourage a new opportunities for discipleship
  • Develop further our partnership with Westway Open Arms

We don’t want or expect our Vicar ‘to do everything’. We commit ourselves to pray for you, work alongside you and support you in your ministry. We are excited about the next stage of our journey of faith and who God is calling to join us.

Informal enquiries are welcome. Please contact:
