If so, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Education Endowment Foundation’s (EEF)
Research Schools Network as the Director of the North Yorkshire Coast Research School.


About the Role:
The North Yorkshire Coast Research School provides support to schools, colleges, and early years
settings, helping them to access, understand, and apply evidence informed practice to improve quality
of teaching and learning, especially for children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
As Director, you will lead the Research School to support schools to effectively use evidence-informed
practices and foster collaboration across the region.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Research School team to help schools understand and implement evidence-based
    improvements in teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with the EEF’s Regional Lead to scale work across the region, serving as a key
    delivery partner.
  • Drive engagement with evidence-informed approaches to raise teaching standards, particularly
    for socio-economically disadvantaged pupils.
  • Design and deliver high-quality training programmes for school leaders and staff in a variety of
    educational settings.
  • Collaborate with external partners across the region and nationally to further the Research
    School’s mission.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of the Research School’s initiatives on school improvement.
  • Champion the needs of small schools and advocate for inclusive, evidence-based teaching
    practices.

What We’re Looking For:


We are seeking an individual who:

  • Has a deep commitment to improving educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.
  • Can confidently lead, motivate, and work collaboratively with a team of education professionals
    that work across a range of different sites
  • Is experienced in designing and delivering impactful training and CPD programmes.
  • Can build strong partnerships with schools, Local Authorities, Multi-Academy Trusts, and other
    system leaders.
  • Is knowledgeable about the role of evidence in school improvement and understands how to
    bring it to life in a range of contexts.
  • Able to attend Regional and National meetings as required.

Network, building a strong reputation for supporting evidence-based practices locally and regionally.
