Vicar of St Nicholas, Hull
Contact
We are looking forward to welcoming a new vicar to support and lead us in the development of our mission and commitment to Living Christ’s Story. We trust our new vicar will have inspirational and dynamic leadership qualities and will be a strategic thinker, particularly to be able to work with us to create a vision for deepening discipleship, growing younger and raising up leaders. We would welcome someone who is, above all, able to lead and inspire with confidence in a variety of settings and who will enjoy being a visible and approachable presence across our community.
Our new vicar will be self-aware, enjoy a variety of ministry, and bring a collaborative and flexible approach to what they do. They will have a passionate faith, led by the Holy Spirit, and a depth of prayer that enriches them and will inspire us. We are looking for a vicar who will:
- Deepen our discipleship, grow our faith and creative expressions of worship and ministry.
- Help us seek vision and lead church growth with energy and enthusiasm.
- Enable and equip us to reach families and younger generations.
- Value Scripture and its teaching, making it accessible to all.
- Embrace the diversity in our community particularly those facing difficulties in economically challenged communities.
- Engage and communicate with the local communities and the wonderful variety of people within them.
We don’t expect our Vicar to do everything and we look to share in ministry with you. Prayer is important to us and we will pray for you. We work well as a team, with committed ordained and lay leadership.
You will find us situated between the village of Hessle and the vibrant city centre of Hull. We are excited about our future and finding the person God is calling to lead us forward into the plans we know he has for us.
