Assistant Vice Principal

We seek to appoint an Assistant Vice Principal to join our team at Manor Church of England Academy.

Jordan Cairns, as Principal of Manor CE Academy, is delighted to introduce our school to you.  Manor has a proud history, having served the young people of York since 1812. We are a Church of England academy and our Christian values guide, influence and underpin all that we do. We proudly strive to provide a 21st century education for our young people, founded on Christian belief, and carry on the work that the National Society began in the early 19th century.

Whilst we are incredibly proud of our reputation for academic excellence, we are even prouder of the many extra-curricular opportunities we provide, enabling our students to truly ‘live life to the full.’

This is a brilliant and unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, diligent and proactive professional to be part of our Senior Leadership Team. In order to be successful, you must possess the skills and determination to positively impact the pedagogical development of the academy so that, ultimately, every child can achieve. This is an exciting role where you will continue to develop our strong underpinning teaching and learning foundations, through our Manor Learning Model (MLM), deliberate practice and research-driven staff development. Applicants must be exceptional teachers with a deep holistic understanding of pedagogy and a mindset where continual personal learning is habitual and never ending, an appropriate programme of teaching will be discussed at interview.

You will provide strategic leadership for our ambitious learning community whilst ensuring the quality of education our students receive is of the very highest standard, day to day.

You will be joining a highly motivated, ambitious and teamwork-driven organisation and therefore, applications are welcomed from exceptional candidates who align with our vision and values. Applicants are invited from high-performing middle and senior leaders who have a proven track record of raising standards in any domain of school improvement.

We offer an extensive suite of professional development opportunities. Collaboration is very important to us, and we benefit from a strong relationship with our five other mainstream secondary schools that make up part of our Multi Academy Trust.

If you feel you align with our underpinning vision and are ready to embark on a new journey in our special Academy, we invite you to contact Mrs Metcalfe (PA to the Principal) for a conversation with Jordan Cairns and a visit to our academy.
