Diocesan Prayer Diary

Join in a diocesan cycle of prayer our communities, our church and our world.

There is always somewhere, something or someone we can pray for. The Diocesan Prayer Diary may help guide you and your church in praying for our diocese.

How to use this Prayer Dairy

This Prayer Diary is for everyone across the Diocese of York. Each week we pray for churches, schools, people and communities across our diocese, as well as communities in the South Africa Link diocese, the Anglican Communion and the Porvoo Communion. You are welcome to use it in whatever way suits you best – as a personal pattern of prayer, as part of your church community or prayer group, within Intercessions, or through storytelling and social media.

Praying for the Whole People of God

In our Prayer Diary, we pray each day for churches, schools and other communities across our diocese. When we do this, we pray for the whole people of God in that place – all those who lead and serve, those who worship, and those in the wider community.

Stories and TheNews

The news pages celebrate how we are Living Christ’s Story across our diocesan family, and are there to help us to pray for and with one another. This now replaces the downloadable, printable newsletter / magazine insert ‘TheNews’ – why not consider making use of the Prayer Diary in the same way? If you have any stories you’d like to share for future editions of the Prayer Diary, please contact our Diocesan Discipleship Adviser on sammi.tooze@yorkdiocese.org.
